Great Scholars Academy is an accelerated program for middle & high school students in East Baton Rouge Parish School System with highly qualified teacher and a rigorous curriculum. This program parallels the gifted program. Great Scholars students are placed in separate classes from the gifted students. Students must maintain an overall 2.5 unweighted GPA or higher to continue in the program.

Admission Criteria

Students must meet one or more of the following: 84 percentile or higher IQ composite score on district approved intelligence test OR National Percentile Rank of 84 or higher in two subject areas on a recent standardized test in Reading/ELA, Math, Science or Social Studies administered within the last 12 months. Students must also demonstrate behavior appropriate and conducive to a learning environment.
